THE STORY OF THE SUMMONING STONE

Each summer I return to coastal Massachusetts to visit my
twin sister. During my visit, we frequently walk on the
beach where I , like Danielle, find stones to add to my
collection. The original story was written using a smooth, perfectly oval, flat yellow stone as the "summoning stone". This stone had always been one of my favorites.

However, in the summer of 2005, I found a flat,
fish-shaped stone on the beach and knew it would
become the "summoning stone". I rewrote all descriptions of the stone in the book to describe this new stone.
